Just took a quick flip through your pictures. I've said it once I'll say it again; "Genius!" I love your pics Jonny.
I would dissagree with the sucks comment, although I would suggest more dramatic lighting. The streight on flash tends to leave a sence of flatness. Try putting a lamp near the side just off frame, a side light will warm things up a bit and soften features.
