And no I didn't switch over my citizenship.
I was driving along this afternoon and it struck me, we are all Americans. The name comes from living in North America...or heck even South America. So I have determined that when some one asks if there are any Americans present, I'll say yes because I am. And I am now going to call anyone from the States a Uniter. Maybe a Stater...but no longer will I call them Americans.
(Should get some interesting comments on this one.)

I have often wondered why we are referred to as Americans, but no one else in North or South America is. However, calling us Americans is not incorrect, because, just like you, we are all Americans.
I'm proud to know Canadians and I will gladly call them Americans. Screw all those ignorant Americans who think they are better than everyone else.
I substitute your truth for my reality:-)
Why does nobody realize how crass it is to say "screw you"? Do you guys know what that means???
Well, since you didn't tell us what it means, I'm going to say 'Screw you, Steph!'
ok, maybe you'll take it back when I tell you it means the same thing as F-you? !!!
This is Kirk and Darren just giving all of you a friggin' screw you unless that offends you in which case flip you. Wait Darren has just informed me that some of my above phrases can be taken in a negative manner by uptight prisses. I meant I wanted to flip you as an acrobat might. Friggin' means to mess around with something and last I checked a screw was something that holds things together so in essence what I meant was: I hope the world keeps trying to find ways to bring all of us closer together and exercise will be the key.
Oh Kirk and Darren, how I love you.
well, in the AMERICA< that's what screw means. Hence, screw you is not a nice thing to say. Haven't you ever heard people talk about screwing some girl? Hopefully not you overhearing yourself??? :-)
I will try to exerice more, but I'm allergic.
Oh boy.
Apparently Frig of the other expletive that starts with fu and ends with ck have roots that denote copulation. What is copulation? I learned it on the golf course one day. I missed the ball and said "FRIG!" to which my golf partner said that that word means copulation. So next time I "screwed" up I yelled "COPULATION!" Not the same effect. But I never yelled "SCREW!"
Essentially we are all... a not nice word... because of our ancestral heritage of pillaging the natives and stealing their home. Sure the earth is ours but I think we should give it all back. Oh wait... that won't work...
But I'm not here to disturb the pot, I'm just saying that there's gotta be a better name than a four word title for the middle section of North America. It would seem weird to say "I'm from the 'Confederate Provinces of the BNA Act'" or something like that. We're all erect bipedal hominids... I'll leave it at that
